CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
HIP HOP - This class is where you learn the latest up beat dance steps to cutting edge music. Offered in beginning, intermediate and advanced. Also available for kids ages 7-12 and teens ages 12-16. HIP HOP GROOVES - This class is much like our other hip hop classes but you get a more indepth instruction on styling. This class is great for the beginner because it breaks down the movements of "groove". DIRTY "FUNKIN" DANCING - This class is a blend of exotic, erotic and very sexy moves combining funk and jazz. Ladies this class will put you in touch with your sensual and erotic selves.
AFRO LATINO - Free your body and soul with this class. It offers a cardio workout to the sensual rhythms of African and Latin music. Get ready to really work it! BRAZILIAN DANCE FUSION - you'll learn different dance styles from Brazil, like samba, axe (it's samba-reggae with an afro flavor), carioca-funk (funk from Rio de Janeiro), frevo (another regional carnival dance in which umbrellas are used as props), just to name a few. At first, the focus will be on samba, then once experienced, all other dance styles will come later. Technique is always a basic focus including footwork, arms, posture, hips, along with across the floor and original choreography. Girls should wear dance sneakers or high heels(no nails showing!!!!), and guys can wear comfortable non-mark sole dance shoes. TECHNIQUE INTENSIVE - these classes will warm you up like no other class and help you to do those single, double, or triple pirouettes and gran jete. All levels welcome to this class.
BALLET - Our Ballet classes stress technique but not stress! We have beginning and Intermediate level classes.
JAZZ - Our jazz classes incorporate many styles from Horton to Fosse. We have beginning to intermediate classes, three different instructor/choreographers with three completely different styles. You'll love them all! PILATES - This class is based on Joseph Pilate's exclusive exercises with alot of stretching at the end. The main focus is not only to tone your core or center of your body, but also stretch those muscles to carry you through your daily activities. We also offer Pre & Post Natal Pilates upon request. Stay in shape while you are pregnant to shorten your "recovery" period after childbirth. If you are pregnant, please consult with your physician before taking the class. This class is also great for seniors because it is a gentle workout.
PILATES ON THE BALL - This class incorporates the exercises created by Joseph Pilates with the added challenge of doing them on an inflated ball. This technique will strengthen and maintain core stability while performing exercises using the ball. Not available at present. CARDIO FUNK - This hour class encompasses the total body workout, strength, flexibility and aeorbics with great music and hip dance moves. This class will make you feel like you have really worked out! Not available at present.
CARDIO HOP - if you like Cardio Funk, you'll love Cardio Hop! You'll get alot more cardio dance that will make you sweat to the beat! This is a great class to break you in for Hip Hop class. Not available at present.
CARDIO SALSA FUNK - This fast moving fitness class incorporates salsa moves with some funk which equals sweat and great fun!
BODY SCULPT & CIRCUIT TRAINING - This class offers a variety of workout from a warm up on our tumble track to weight training to step aerobics to core conditioning. This workout has it all!
CORE CONDITIONING & STRETCH - this is a mat class which focuses on building core strength (upper, middle, and lower abs) including lower back, arms, legs, and buttocks with a good stretch at the end of class which will set you straight for the rest of the day! For all levels, but very challenging. 1.5hrs YOGA - Kundalini Yoga includes the following components: centering, breath, strength and flexibility work, meditation and deep relaxation. Each Yoga class will be based on a set of exercises called a Kriya which is designed around a particular topic such as stress reduction, increased immune function, enhanced energy and circulation, and tons more! The class will be taught to all levels of ability with music to match the activities of the class. Kundalini Yoga was first brought to the United States from India in 1969 by Yogi Bajan. CAPOEIRA ANGOLA - This is a Brazilian art form and self defense class with strong aerobics dance elements. It is a comvination of exercises that gives you power, flexibility, endurance, and self discovery.
BELLY DANCE - this class is fast paced beginning with a stretch and warm up specifically geared toward belly dance, then technique using hip work, isolations, undulations and movement. Students learn Egyptian/Cabaret style choreography. The class is open to recreational students as well as those interested in performance opportunity.
